Hello, I'm Derek Merkler – a financial planner, thoroughbred breeder, and racehorse owner. Since 2013, I have been breeding thoroughbreds on my family farm outside of Lexington, KY. I count Cairo Cat, Tyler’s Tribe, Glengarry, and Shimmering Allure my biggest breeding successes so far.
Since 2017, I have been helping clients achieve their financial goals as a professional financial planner. You can think of me as the Chief Money Nerd who is passionate about both finance and horse racing! With years of experience in the thoroughbred industry, I understand its ups and downs better than most.
